About NECFC

A Tallahassee child care family since 1986

New Enrichment Center for Children is a family‑owned daycare and preschool on Old St. Augustine Road. Our teaching philosophy embraces globalism — every culture is included and valued equally — and the experiences children have here keep shaping them all the way through school.

Trained with Florida State University

Quality care, backed by research

From 2004 through 2006, NECFC took part in an extensive training and mentoring project with Florida State University (FSU). The partnership let us assess our program and take real steps toward the highest‑quality education for children.

Together with the Knight Foundation Quality Care Grant, it gave our staff the child‑development knowledge to run a program designed to prepare every child for school — with comprehensive services for individual needs, so no child is left behind.

Our philosophy

Healthy, safe and loving

We provide a healthy, safe and loving environment in a child‑centered, well‑equipped educational program — one that challenges each child’s growth and development, builds a positive self‑concept and teaches the self‑help skills needed for the years beyond preschool.

Our goals
1

Focus & attention

Build attention and concentration skills through individual and group activities.
2

Whole-child growth

Offer a variety of experiences that grow intellectual, social, emotional and physical development.
3

School readiness

Introduce Pre‑K readiness — math, logic, language and reading — to prepare for school entrance.
4

Confidence & balance

Build positive self‑concepts and bring balance to every child, including those who find things hard.
